Crypto platform Bedrock has been the victim of a cyberattack that resulted in a hacker stealing $2 million. The exploit was discovered by Dedaub on September 26, but the Bedrock team was unable to prevent the leak.
While the hacker had the opportunity to steal up to $75 million, he only stole $2 million. In response, Bedrock is developing a reimbursement plan for the affected users and is working with audit teams to recover the stolen assets. The company also sent a message to the hacker via Etherscan offering a reward for the return of the funds, but there has been no response yet.
Other crypto platforms, such as Shezmu, have successfully recovered stolen funds by offering rewards to the hackers. For example, Shezmu managed to recover almost $5 million by negotiating with the hacker, demonstrating a growing trend of negotiating with hackers after hacks.
