Brazil’s largest oil and gas company, Petrobras, has initiated a research project that includes bitcoin mining and asset tokenization. The company is also exploring blockchain technology to optimize its business processes.
The project supports Petrobras’ transition to low-carbon technologies and is being implemented with the participation of universities and research centers. For example, Argentine companies are already using excess energy for mining, and Petrobras is following their lead.
In 2023, Petrobras also formed a partnership with Cardano Foundation.
